Working on a big clean up and organization of the house before my youngest daughter's First Communion and older daughter's Confirmation in May. So very busy with all my work outside of the house that I don't know how much I will get done at home. Will just keep plodding away at it...

 

 

 

 

This is a part of my vintage dress collection. So pretty to look at. They're not all fitting in my vintage prom dress closet so I had to buy a rack to hang some of them on. I think they look so nice in the family room in the basement, but husband doesn't think so, so out of the family room they will go... :)

My girls were performing in their ballet school's yearly performance yesterday. Here is the vintage tutu my littlest one was wearing. They were both wonderful in their performance and Grandmother from Toronto was lucky enough to come into town and see them in their show too. I'm so proud of them :)

Vintage Ruffled Slips

Of all the vintage slips that I've collected, I've never seen ones with a little ruffled bottom before. So when I saw this trio for offer on etsy, I acted quickly. So pretty.

Building Up My Vintage Wardrobe

In addition to thrifting on the internet, I've taken it upon myself to up the vintage fashion quotient in my closet. So lately I've been working on slowly building up my vintage wardrobe with the help of etsy. Dresses are coming back and what could be better than a vintage dress, especially for spring and summer?

My first stop was Sassy Sister Vintage where I got this pretty 50's Mad Men Vintage Dress. I really like how owner Kim photographed the dress with the table and props in the background (that pink bulletin board in the background was for sale and called my name as well :)

I also fell in love with this Boho Chic 70's dress because doesn't everyone need a little bit of the 70's in their life? She's on her way to my closet as well.

Next stop, Raleigh Vintage.

A 1960's Miss Smith Day Dress (love how Andi describes her dresses).

A 1960's Powder Blue Eyelet Shift Dress. Now that I don't have to wear work clothes for a couple of months, I can wear whatever I want, so I thought these two dresses from Raleigh Vintage would be perfect for picking up the girls from school in vintage style.

Finally, I dropped by Dolly Dress Shop - "Vintage Dresses: Because Too Many is Never Enough". Somehow, I don't disagree :)  From lovely Giana's shop I ordered a trio of green dresses.

I started off with this 60's Lacy Mint Julep Party Dress. Thought this would be great for a wedding.

When I saw this 60's ruffled number, I could not resist. Funky and romantic at the same time.

This Mod 60's Jackie O Jadeite Green Tweedy Shift reminded me of a dress my mother wore when I was about five years old. This was a nostalgic purchase, but the dress does fit me.

I already received my package from Dolly Dress Shop. Giana sure knows how to wrap a parcel - love the vintage earrings and the 40s black and white sea photo. Thanks so much, Giana!

 

It's been a lot of fun building up my vintage style wardrobe. I just can't wait to start wearing those dresses!
