Miss B. and I had a great road trip to Plattsburgh, NY, last Friday on our day off. Yes, there was a bit of blowing snow on the highway before the U.S. border but it did look pretty and made us feel as if we were off to a magical kingdom.
We got to Target and I found the items on my wish list, plus the linen curtain panels that I had forgotten were on my original wish list (thanks Laura for reminding me, and thanks Tracey for the wonderful tablecloth idea in the first place).
They only had the 95 in. long panels left which is what I wanted in the first place, and lucky me, I got them on sale! Since they were such a great price and a nice, heavier weight, Miss B. suggested that I get a couple more panels to use for upholstery projects. What a brilliant idea!
I think with this lovely natural curtain panel fabric from Target it will be a big improvement. I already have the perfect pillow picked out for it when it's done from chez Clara and Marcela. So perfect for Mlle Magpie, don't you think?
At the Borders bookstore in the same mall, I picked up the latest copy of Where Women Create (it will be at least a week before it will arrive in Montreal).
Did our jaws drop or what when we entered this crafter's paradise?!! We were in complete awe, as there is nothing like this in Canada. Miss B. and I roamed the aisles, oohing and aahing, not knowing what to do. We finally narrowed down our purchases and ended up getting some pretty white paper flowers.
I also got some craft punches, glittered chipboard letters, stamps, and six blocks of floral foam for what I would pay for two blocks in Montreal. I tell you, when it comes to shopping you Americans have the best selection and the best prices! Next time Miss B. and I do this road trip, we'll be ready to do some serious stocking up on crafting supplies, now that we know what's available.
p.s. the only disappointment was that when I got home and opened up my Simply Shabby Chic duvet cover package, someone had "taken out"/"removed" the matching pillow shams. Miss B. suggested I call Target's customer service and see if they can do something for me, since I can't just zip down to the States and get an exchange in person, so we'll see... Other than that, it was a wonderful road trip to the U.S.
