Oh, dear, there's not much time left. I think I'm the only person in blogland who does not yet have a Christmas tree. Should be getting one tonight though. That nasty flu has really slowed me down this year so all I have in the way of decorations in the house so far is this...
It's a beautiful leather skate ornament made by the lovely Natasha in Australia.
Well, better get working on my pared down lists of things to do. I may not have much done yet in the way of preparations, but I have been busy counting my blessings and do feel the Christmas spirit in my heart which is really what counts, isn't it?
My fellow junkers/flea market fanatics, Sue of the Vintage Rescue Squad has put together a calendar just for you!
This amazing woman
has gathered all the dates of important shows and sales in the U.S. and put them into one fabulous calendar that is perfect for your home office or your work office. It could also be a great gift for a kindred vintage-loving soul.
The photos are wonderful and even include one taken by Mlle Magpie.
Sue is selling them in her new etsy shoppe here. They're only $15 each and shipping is free. But you better hurry because I think they're going to sell out...
p.s. all photos taken without express permission from Sue, but I don't think she'll mind :)
Is it possible to be a junker/thrifter/collector if you never leave your house? Thankfully for me, having been sick for the past four weeks and essentially unable to leave the house (except in an ambulance, twice), I could still try to maintain my magpie habits and pleasures without going to a single Salvation Army store, junk shop or flea market. Once I was able to make it to my computer, I could do a little trolling on ebay and browsing on etsy. What a lifesaver for any devoted junker, thrifter or collector who cannot actually go out to dig in the real world.
A few of my new vintage bisque dolls. On a bed of old roses.
I actually went to work for a few hours on a couple of days last week. I also finally made it back to my favourite shopping destination for a little thrifting too. Yes, I'm starting to feel more like my old self. Finally.
