The Envy of Other Shoppers

This morning when I popped into to my favourite place to treasure hunt, I scored a couple of fabulous treasures. They're not ultra-valuable, but they look valuable. Let me tell you, I was the envy of many shoppers today when they spied two of these beauties in my cart, for $6.99 each. One of the regulars, a former antique dealer commented to me, "Those are very Louis XV, you know," quite obviously impressed.

They will be going on my fireplace mantel, here in the city. Here is what else I found.

My daughter plays the violin, so I got the little book for her. Underneath these treasures is a cute little painted bench that I found in the furniture section for $15. 

It will be perfect in the mudroom at the farmhouse, especially since the top opens up for extra storage. But the clincher for me, was my favourite colour peeking out underneath the white paint.

I'm going to scrape off the white paint to reveal as much as possible of my favourite colour underneath.

I also found a pair of tap dance shoes for my 8 year old daughter - now will of course have to keep my eyes out for a small pair for the 4 year old. Plus, a couple of rhinestone brooches.

All in all, a great way to start the weekend. Hope you have a good one!
